If a person was to ask me who my greatest teacher was, I would have to say Ms. Sherry Adams, who taught graphics class. Honestly, I found her class by mistake. It began at the end of my freshman year.
I was in the guidance office and I was choosing my next year's courses. I asked what kind of art classes the school offered. The counselor then told me about graphic communications, which is offered at our county's career center. I signed up and had the class during the second semester of my sophomore year. It was the best thing that happened to me.
I had no clue where my life was heading or what I wanted to do in the future. Sophomore year, I fell in love with graphics. I found I had a knack for it, and with that came a passion. I enjoyed my work so much that I continued into the level II graphics course the next year. I fell even more in love with the class as well as the industry.
If it had not been for my amazing instructor, I would not be the person I am today. She helped me to realize that the path to success and significance is not the same for everyone. It is a personal journey and is sometimes not what others may want for you. But in the end, it is what is best for you and what will make you into a great person, leader, and friend.
